We are proud to officially release the new and redesigned HIV Youth Project. We are constantly striving to present the most relevant news affecting our communities in an organized, easy to read fashion. If there any other ways we can improve this site and make it more accessible, please feel free to contact us.
The Project is now primarily organized around three main categories: Testimonials, News and Community. As these names suggest, user-submitted stories regarding experiences with or combating against HIV/AIDS will be filed under Testimonials. Mainstream news, current events and study findings will be posted under News and all other news and announcements will be under the Community heading.
What’s in store for the future. We will soon be publishing news, statistics and fact sheets specific to individual racial and ethnic communities. Additionally, we will potentially add forums/messaging boards gauging the demand from you, the members. If you have any other suggestions for possible additions to the site, tell us!
As many of you know, we have started the HIV Youth Project as a personal endeavor born of an equally personal struggle. Alongside the launch, we are initiating a fundraising drive! Despite many misgivings and obstacles, the Project has moved forward, reaching an estimated 2,500+ individuals in 878 different cities in 79 countries around the world since our initial launch in October 2007. But there is still so much more work to be done. The Project has been personally funded hitherto, but in order to provide a broader, more inclusive, basis of support, we will need an infusion of capital.
Our goals
- Cover immediate and long-term overhead site maintenance costs
- To further invest in, publicize and expand the Project
- Endow a scholarship fund for HIV/AIDS youth and/or activists
- Achieve official 501(c)1 tax-exempt status
Ways to give
- ChipIn [http://hivproject.chipin.com/hiv-youth-project]
- Paypal [email: william@hivproject.org]

You can give any amount starting from $1 on up, instantly and securely through ChipIn.com using your credit/debit card or checking account.
I realize that most of us are struggling students, but a donation as little as $1 would mean so much. Be assured that 100% of the proceeds will go directly into funding the Project.
In other news, I will fly out to New York City tomorrow to attend the 2nd annual New York City Asian American Student Conference (NYCAASC) this upcoming Saturday, organized by a very good friend and colleague, Christina Chen. If you will be in the area, drop by and say hello! In the meantime, please enjoy two new entries by our very own Albert on his experiences on living with HIV in Life is What You Make of It and Survival of the Foolish and What I’ve Learned
